Product Description
Waterproof IP67/IP68 M8 Male 3-Core Aviation Plug Sensor with Solderless Feature Coaxial RF Connectors Threaded Connection
Product Overview

The M8 Solderless Plug (also called M8 push-in / IDC / spring-clamp field-wireable plug) is the tool-light, no-iron version of the classic M8×1.0 miniature circular connector. It follows IEC 61076-2-104, mates with any standard M8 panel socket or M8 cordset, and provides a sealed IP67 sensor/actuator interface on a cable you cut to length yourself—without requiring a soldering iron, crimp gun, or flux.

Depending on the build, the conductor is held by insulation-displacement (IDC) blades, spring push-in clips, or screw-clamp terminals that act like solder electrically but assemble in seconds with a small flat driver or bare hands.

It is the default micro-connector for 24 VDC proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, valve islands, encoders, and compact IO-Link devices where an M12 is too large for the housing.

Key Benefits
  • Zero soldering, 60-second termination: Strip the jacket (IDC needs no strip at all), insert 0.14-0.34 mm² (26-22 AWG) into the color/number-coded chamber, close the lever or tighten the micro-screw—done. No cold-joint risk, no heat damage to PVC jacket, no skilled hand required.
  • IP67 sealed, M8×1.0 threaded lock: O-ring face + rear gland (PG7 class, 3.5-5.0 mm cable OD) keep dust, oil mist, and washdown out; knurled nut tightens with fingers or a 0.2 N*m driver, anti-vibration lock holds on conveyors and AGV mounts.
  • 3 A / 60 V (3-pin) or 3 A / 30 V (4-pin A-code), 4 A on common 3/4-pin builds: Sufficient for every 24 VDC sensor, 2-wire/3-wire switch, and small valve coil; D-code 4-pin carries 100 Mbps PROFINET/EtherNet/IP.
  • Gold-plated brass contacts, ≤5 mΩ: 500+ mating cycles, -25 °C to +80 °C (some shells -40 to +85 °C), PA66+GF or nickel-brass body, UL94-V0, RoHS/REACH compliant.
  • 33% smaller than M12: 8 mm coupling face fits mini photoelectric heads, endoscopic-style probes, robot wrist tools, and door-edge sensor strips where M12 won't physically clear.
  • Field repairable & re-openable: Unlock the nut, pop the contact carrier, re-insert a new wire—no scrapping the whole cordset when a sensor lead gets damaged.
  • Lower BOM than molded M8 cordsets: Stock 3-pin and 4-pin A-code solderless plugs + a reel of 4×0.25 mm² PUR cable = every length from 0.3 m to 15 m on demand, reducing SKU requirements.
Technical Features
  • Coupling: M8 × 1.0 threaded, knurled grip nut (plastic or Ni-brass)
  • Termination: Push-in spring / IDC / screw-clamp (all "solderless"); no solder cup
  • Orientation: straight (inline) / 90° right-angle
  • Gender: male (pin) cable plug standard; female available
  • Coding: A-code (3/4-pin sensor power, most common), B-code (5-pin PROFIBUS), D-code (4-pin Fast Ethernet); P-code optional
  • Pins: 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 8
  • Gland: rear strain relief for Φ3.5-5.0 mm (PG7 class), shielded or unshielded insert
  • Shell: PA66+GF (black/grey) or Zn-diecast Ni-plated (shielded D-code)
  • Seal: silicone/NBR O-ring face + rear grommet; optional cap when unmated

Competitive Advantages
  • vs soldered M8 field plug: same electrical quality, 3× faster to wire, no cold-joint rejects, re-openable for rework
  • vs pre-molded M8 cordset: cut any length on site, 50% lower SKU count, repair not replace
  • vs M12 screw plug: 33% smaller faceprint, lighter, cheaper, enough amps for every 24 VDC sensor
  • vs generic 2-pin micro DC plug: coded keying prevents mis-mate, IP67, industrial vibration life
Applications
  • Factory automation: proximity & photoelectric sensors, inductive probes, pressure transmitters, valve islands, IO-Link masters
  • Industrial communication: D-code 4-pin M8 for 100 Mbps PROFINET/EtherNet/IP field devices
  • Robotics & AGV: wrist-tool sensors, small encoder feeds, cobot end-effector signal
  • Machine vision: compact industrial camera power+trigger, LED bar light taps
  • Outdoor & transport: streetlight controller sensor port, solar combiner aux, railway wayside telemetry, NMEA 2000 micro drops
  • Medical & lab: portable instrument harness, lab automation gripper links, cart battery status lines
